For a “Now and Then” theme this week, we definitely had our work cut out for us! But we pulled it off! My goal was, though the #Idols were singing some oldies, to keep the singers’ looks fresh, relevant, and modern. Scroll down to see some of the looks you loved from performance night, and how to get them for yourself!
P.S. Show your Idols some #LOVE and Pin It if you Love It!
Hollie Cavanagh
(Left, Now) To sing Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep,” Hollie wore the Open Side Sparkle Blue top by LeiLuna Collection that began as a dress [and if you love glitter, try this sequin Express top], an ANGL bandeau, and Alice & Olivia pants. Jewelry included earrings by Prb Studios, Private Collection, necklace by Nineteen Twenty Nine, rings from Supreme Jewelry, and bracelets by Tiffany Chou. [If you loved her necklace, Nasty Gal has a necklace with a similar shape.]
(Right, Then) For her performance of Dusty Springfield’s “Son of a Preacher Man,” I styled Hollie in this Fitted Bind Shakuhachi dress (with adjustments), Aldo shoes in the “Mease” style, and a Prb Studios, Private Collection necklace.
Colton Dixon
(Left, Now) To rock out to “Bad Romance” by Lady Gaga, Colton wore an Rochambeau top, Greg Lauren jacket, and Robin’s Jean pants [these are similar] with Kizmit customizations. His shoes were by Jaded by Knight [Amazon.com carries similar boots], and the look was topped off with Luv Aj rings.
(Right, Then) To sing “September” by Earth Wind & Fire, I styled Colton in a Hotel top, Unconditional vest, Kill City pants, and shoes by Hudson. [If you loved his tee + scarf combo, American Apparel has so many of options.]
Skylar Laine
(Left, Now) To sing Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way,” on stage Skylar wore an H&M top, an Unconditional vest, and Robin’s Jean pants. Accessories were an ANGL belt [Forever 21 has a similar belt for under $10], Nine West shoes, and rings by Junk Gypsy Co. and London Manori. [If you #loved her sparkle vest, you’ll love this sparkle open top on Yoox.]
(Right, Then) To sing Marvin Gaye’s “Heard It Through The Grapevine,” I styled Skylar in this exact Ani Lee “Josie” dress (in a different color) and Corral Boots boots that packed some punch! She also wore Neon Dirt earrings and a London Manori bracelet. [Loved her boots? Score a similar pair for less at Charlotte Russe.]
Joshua Ledet
(Left, Now) To sing “I Believe” by Fantasia, I styled Joshua in Paul Smith socks and this shirt, and an H&M jacket with Kizmit customizations. He wore Zara pants, Aldo shoes, a watch by Christian Tse, and personal rings.
(Right, Then) To sing Sam Cooke’s “A Change Is Gonna Come,” Joshua wore a Zara top and pants. We shed a jacket for this performance and went with a Noah Kingery vest! [Here is a similar vest for less.] He also wore Aldo shoes, socks by Paul Smith, and a London Manori bracelet. [If you liked his jewelry, you may like what Kohl’s has to offer!]
Phillip Phillips
(Left, Now) We continued to keep “less is more” in mind again this week. To sing Usher’s ballad “U Got It Bad,” Phillip wore a James Perse top [H&M carries a similar henley] and Lucky Brand jeans [these are very similar]. He wore shoes by The Frye Company and a bracelet by M. Cohen Designs.
(Right, Then) For “In The Midnight Hour” by Wilson Pickett, Phillip wore a Gap top, John Varvatos blazer [H&M has a wallet-friendly jacket available], Lucky Brand pants, and The Frye Company shoes.
Jessica Sanchez
(Left, Now) To sing Alicia Keys’ “Fallin’,” I styled Miss Jessica in a statement-making, and very popular, “Masha” jumpsuit by Alice + Olivia, a pink American Apparel unitard, and bold Bebe shoes and earrings. Other jewelry included a Deepa Gurnani necklace [here is a less-statement piece], Charriol bracelet, and Erica Courtney rings.
(Right, Then) To sing “Otis Redding’s soulful “Try A Little Tenderness,” Jessica wore a Zara tank top, Skingraft jacket [here is a similar piece], and Alice + Olivia pants. Accessories were Rachel Roy shoes, an Express belt, and rings by Tiffany Chou and Supreme Jewelry. [Forever 21 offers similar #fabulous earrings.]
Elise Testone
(Left, Now) Last but not least is Elise. To sing “No One” by Alicia Keys, Elise wore this exact flowing orange chiffon Leon Max dress and Pelle Moda shoes. And she wore tons of jewelry again this week, including Erica Courtney earrings, necklace, and rings, and bracelets by Prb Studios, Private Collection and de Leon. [Forever 21 has similar bracelets you’ll love!]
(Right, Then) To sing Marvin Gaye’s “Let’s Get It On,” Elise wore a Bebe top with sweetheart neckline [Bebe offers a similar-style dress] and Kizmit customizations, Zara pants with Kizmit customizations, and her own Bakers shoes. Jewelry included Erica Courtney necklace and rings and Christian Tse earrings.
