(RIGHT, “The Climb” by Miley Cyrus) I styled Miss Hollie in this exact God Save LA bustier top from Kitson (at under $100 this shimmering piece is a steal!), an Abyss kick-out skirt that I’d been holding onto since the beginning of the season [here’s a similar one by BB Dakota], and shoes by Boutique 9. Jewelry included a Deepa Gurnani necklace, a Charriol bracelet, and Bijou Tresor ring.

SKYLAR LAINE

(LEFT, “The Show Must Go On” by Queen) Skylar wore a sparkly alice + olivia dress [for the budget fashionistas, Forever 21 offers a similar dress], this Bebe belt to show off her tiny waist, and Steve Madden shoes with Kizmit customizations. Jewelry included a Neon Dirt necklace and Supreme Jewelry rings.

(RIGHT, “Tattoos On This Town” by Jason Aldean) I styled this tough country diva in a Lipsy dress [here is a similar one with gold embellishments], a custom Kizmit fringe vest [if you loved the vest, here’s a black crochet option from Charlotte Russe], and boots by Corral Boots. JOSHUA LEDET

(LEFT, “Crazy Little Thing” by Queen) Joshua wore an all-black ensemble including an Express button-up shirt topped with a Kill City leather lapel jacket, Zara pants, and custom shoes. Accessories included socks from H&M [make a statement with these H&M socks] and a Pennyroyal Studio necklace. [Loved his necklace? Aldo carries a similar one!]

(RIGHT, “Ready For Love” by India.Arie) I styled Joshua in a Zara top (which brightened his face) and “rubberised” sneakers and the “Brando” style G-Star jacket, pants, and scarf. [Get the jacket look for less with this jacket by Nixon.]

PHILLIP PHILLIPS

(LEFT, “Fat Bottomed Girls” by Queen) Some color for Phillip this week! I styled him in a Supima tee [American Apparel carries crew tees in every color under the sun], this James Perse button-up shirt, J Brand pants, and shoes by The Frye Company.

(RIGHT, “The Stone” by the Dave Matthews Band) Phil wore a James Perse tee layered with a Hyden Yoo button-up. He took a fashion chance this week with Dylan George jeans with a wax finish [these jeans are similar] and shoes by The Frye Company. Accessories included a J. Crew belt. [Liked his bracelet? Urban Outfitters carries utility bracelets that are similar.]

JESSICA SANCHEZ

(LEFT, “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen) I styled this sixteen year-old fashionista in a BCBG Max Azria top, ring, necklace, and crystal spike earrings, a Bod & Christensen “Bobbijacket, Parker’s Navajo print skirt [Forever 21 offers a sequin mini for less!], and cool Creative Recreation sneakers with Kizmit customizations. Other jewelry included a Bijou Tresor bracelet and necklace.

(RIGHT, “Dance With My Father by Luther Vandross) Jessica wore BCBG’s asymmetrical dress in Bright Lime [here’s another BCBG look for less] and belt combo with Jessica Simpson shoes. (LEFT, “I Want It All” by Queen) With major bohemian flavor, I styled Elise in a mesh top, this fringed skirt, and duster (with Kizmit customizations), all by Zara, and Unlisted shoes (available at Macy’s). Jewelry, and plenty of it, included a DeLatori necklace, bracelets by Bijou Tresor, and Energy Muse, Bijou Tresor rings, and Energy Muse anklet. American Idol Top 7 Redux: Get The Look, 4/18/12

For a “Now and Then” theme this week, we definitely had our work cut out for us! But we pulled it off! My goal was, though the #Idols were singing some oldies, to keep the singers’ looks fresh, relevant, and modern. (Right, Then) To sing Sam Cooke’s “A Change Is Gonna Come,” Joshua wore a Zara top and pants. We shed a jacket for this performance and went with a Noah Kingery vest! (Left, Now) We continued to keep “less is more” in mind again this week. To sing Usher’s ballad “U Got It Bad,” Phillip wore a James Perse top [H&M carries a similar henley] and Lucky Brand jeans [these are very similar]. He wore shoes by The Frye Company and a bracelet by M. Cohen Designs.

(Right, Then) For “In The Midnight Hour” by Wilson Pickett, Phillip wore a Gap top, John Varvatos blazer [H&M has a wallet-friendly jacket available], Lucky Brand pants, and The Frye Company shoes.

To sing Skylar Grey’s “I Love the Way You Lie,” I styled Colton in a budget-friendly v-neck H&M t-shirt (seriously, it’s under $6!), Tuesday Night Band Practice hoodie, and a Lip Service jacket [there’s a similar striped one by TOPMAN] with Kizmit customizations. Randy Jackson said to Steven Tyler: “That’s a hot jacket.” He wore Hudson shoes, a Saint Vintage necklace [similar to this one through Amazon] and bracelet, and GodDaughters ring.

For her performance of Kellie Picker’s “Didn’t You Know How Much I Loved You,” Skylar amazed in a feminine Mackage dress with a sweetheart neckline [there’s a #fab dress by Reverse on ASOS that’s similar] and Pelle Moda shoes. Jewelry included these teardrop earrings by Bebe, a Pennyroyal Studio necklace, and Devora Libin Jewels bracelets.
